Book reviews

I’m not going to review the Val McDermid books I’ve been reading recently, because I presume everyone’s read them. But they are very good. However, I have read a lot of other books recently.

The More You Ignore Me, The Quiet Twin, A Short History of the British Industrial Revolution, Little Face, Autumn )

I predict a riot

So, I seem to have this awful, awful luck with Criminal Minds, because the episode I saw this week featured cut for spoilers, oops )
In other TV news, The Shadow Line continues to be beautiful, beautiful television. The writing is amazing. I am becoming increasingly bitter than I’m watching it as it’s on and therefore have to wake a week between episodes. It’s like The Killing all over again.

I got my Silent Witness and Lewis DVDs last week, and have rewatched s5 of Lewis. It’s a bit odd, and I still don’t believe half the stuff relating to Hathaway, but those are minor niggles. I haven’t watched Silent Witness yet.

Can’t think about what else I’ve watched this week! I know I missed Vera so I’ll have to catch that on DVD, and…no, it’s all gone. I have been out quite a bit, though, oddly for me (see film reviews).

Oh, wait! Doctor Who (I am finding it hard to keep being interested, tbh) and Eurovision (awesome). That was what else I watched – other than that I’ve been watching a lot of films (including Tell No One, even though it turned out I had seen it already \o/ my stupid memory, honestly).

Radio highlight this week:

Incredible Women – lots and lots of Rebecca Front, in a spoof documentary series:

And I’m finally, finally getting back to writing (I have done sod all for the last few weeks, it's been very frustrating). I have booked some time off at the end of the month, and I think I need to spend at least a day just writing to try and get some things finished. Or in a couple of cases, started.
