London Spy (spoilers)

So recently London Spy has been on BBC 2, featuring Ben Whishaw being his usual excellent and slightly melancholy self. I watched all of it (I know a lot of people gave up partway through, which totally makes sense, frankly), and I have spoilery thoughts:

 and between the two of us we worked out that the show either needed to be shorter (so no timewasting) or longer (so the plot points had time to breathe). Overall it was an unsatisfying viewing experience that - with a bit more thought - could have been much much better.
