I agree that Fancy would totally sign up, but maybe if it's horrible in unexpected ways -- or he could have an attack of stoic principles and decide that D'avin shouldn't be forced into it even though it's awesome? Or they could fight, I'm not picky. :D Just as long as Fancy gets something to do (and doesn't die)!
And gahhaha, I hear you about the inevitability of jossing. Not that it can't be fun to run with a probably-AU in the hiatus, but sometimes the knowledge that canon's going to do its own thing just kind of looms.
