1. I feel really bad for Sam. Just saying.
2. Have just thought of this now but why wasn’t Sam’s cover as an Australian rather than an American? (I presume to show off the accent ability)
3. Oh dear. Ohhhh dear.
4. Surely someone as paranoid as that dude would know what the doctor coming to his house would look like?
5. And surely the private security peeps would have a database of people of other operatives? (this one is a bit iffy I know)
6. I am super-impressed by Sam’s bendiness and agility.
7. I know the ex-army (or whatever he is) guy is supposed to be a dick, but at least he’s actually trying to do something about it.
8. Therefore he has now become my second-favourite (after Sam)
9. Oh my God, that was a bit unnecessary.
10. I feel quite bad for Stephen Campbell Moore as well.
11. Oh, I didn’t think she was actually going to do something as risky as stealing the key card to go and kill Hassan.
12. Oh, Hassan, you are a dick.
13. I still don’t understand why it couldn’t just be someone putting a tracker on her. They work for a freaking private security firm.
14. OH! Okay then.
15. Oh dear.
16. Well, I suppose that’s one way of making the bad guys stand out when the good guys are pretty shady already.
17. I spend basically the whole of this show waiting for Sam to get caught.
18. Oh, he’s ex-special forces. Must try to remember that.
19. Usefully specific fake news!
20. Oh my GOD Sam, you’re contaminating the crime scene and you’ve pretty much put yourself in the frame there.
21. I am trying not to get too worked up about the stupidity of the characters – I watch Merlin, so it’s not the worst I’ve seen this week – but it’s hard.
22. FIGHT!
23. Go Sam!
24. Poor Sam, her life sucks.
25. Oh, piss off, Sam’s ex-boyfriend (don’t like him enough to learn his name)
26. WELL HELLO THERE INDIRA VARMA!
27. Why do all the men on the team have stubble?
28. Oh, you know, Stephen Campbell Moore actually being the younger son makes a lot of sense.
29. Oh my God, ex-special forces guy \o/
30. Hahahahaha
31. He might be an idiot, lady, but he’s getting the job done.
32. FUCKING HELL
33. You could have just left the sticker on him before and saved yourself a lot of horror and ickiness, Sam.
34. Oh no! Creepy Euro dude is watching Sam!

Oh, what to say about the mindfuckery that is Merlin? Do they have a sort of endgame in mind? Any endgame? At the moment it seems like they’re chucking everything into the mix just for the hell of it.

I did like the possible unintentional lampshading of how Arthur’s stupidity is going to be his undoing. At least, that’s how I’m taking it when they say Arthur’s bane is himself ;).

I didn’t like it as much as last week’s episode, tbh, and the Mordred-stabbing-Morgana thing was bullshit (and the whole staggering through the snow at the end was odd). It was nice that Gwaine was cheerfully shirtless again.

Ugh, talk about disappointment (although tbf it was nowhere near the nonsense that was Inside Men, it just didn’t work for me). Really the trouble for me started back in episode 2 when Sav shot the main evil bastard dude whose name I can’t remember. I feel the series played its hand too early with that – I was expecting a gradual slide from Good Cop to bad, if that makes sense, and instead it just went boom, he’s shot a dude. And from then on he just wasn’t a sympathetic character anymore. He was just one of the TV cops who think they’re above the law.

And he was a creepy stalker of his ex, with even less justification than you normally get with these kind of plotlines.

The last episode just didn’t work for me at all. Hated hated hated the subplot about the girls getting beaten up (it was utterly gratuitous and actually got to me more than almost anything in Luther), hated them putting the little blonde cop in as bait, hated that of course she got attacked. And then of course Sav got to feel bad about it so he could go off on another roaring rampage of revenge, but this time he didn’t actually know who’d done it (at least with the first murder he was a direct witness), so – as far as I could tell – he not only ended up killing the rubbish thief, he killed someone he didn’t actually know was guilty.

And then Sav goes off and shouts at the sea and it ends there, and just... Oh boo hoo, you feel bad! SO YOU SODDING SHOULD. Were we supposed to feel bad for him? Were we supposed to want him to do anything other than fucking hand himself in? It was just a mess.

So, in conclusion, I should have just rewatched Luther.
